Snowshoe Lending Program

Who can borrow snowshoes?
Anyone with a valid Onoway Public library card

How do I borrow snowshoes?
Holds must be placed directly by the library and can be done by calling 780-967-2445 or email: onowaylibrary@yrl.ab.ca.

How long can I borrow snowshoes?
Snowshoes can be checked out for a 1-week loan period. Snowshoes are subject to regular library overdue policies and fees; lost or damaged snowshoes are subject to a $150 fee for replacement of snowshoes and bags. There are no renewals on these items, but patrons can go directly back onto the holds list once items have been returned.

Can I check out more than one pair of snowshoes at once?
Yes, you can! Snowshoeing is a wonderful winter activity for friends and families to do together. Our ability to fulfill the request will be dependent on the number of snowshoes available.

How do I return snowshoes when I'm done with them?
Snowshoes can be returned to the library during open hours. Snowshoes cannot be placed in book drops and are considered to be the responsibility of the borrower until they are returned in person to a library.

Which size of snowshoe is best for me?
The ideal snowshoe size depends mostly on your weight (user’s fully loaded weight). The following sizing chart can help identify which of the available size would best suit an individual.
